Cortex XDR is required on all capable NYU assets. Do not uninstall Cortex XDR unless you are retiring or decommissioning a system, or you have a formal exception from GOIS.

If you’re retiring / decommissioning an asset you can use the following steps to uninstall Cortex XDR:
Use the Cortex XDR console

Endpoints> All EndpointsEndpoint Name Contains and enter the hostnameEndpoint Control > Uninstall AgentManual Uninstall - KB can be found here. If there is a step that is not updated please let us know so we can update it.
You don’t need to install using the latest/greatest version! If you use an older Cortex XDR version, it’ll automatically upgrade itself shortly after installation (provided the installer is from the past year or so).
GOIS periodically uploads new installation packages to each units’ Google Drive folder.
If you desperately want the latest / greatest installation package, e-mail [email protected].
