1. How do I confirm Cortex XDR is checking in?

  1. Via the Cortex XDR console
    1. Endpoints> All Endpoints
    2. In the filter area, add a filter for Endpoint Name Contains and enter the hostname
    3. Confirm
      1. Endpoint Status = Connected or Disconnected, if the machine is not currently on the network)
      2. Operational Status is Protected
  2. Check the Global Security Dashboard’s Endpoint Coverage page
    1. Note that the GSD refreshes daily, so you may need to wait until the following day

2. How do I uninstall Cortex XDR?

Cortex XDR is required on all capable NYU assets. Do not uninstall Cortex XDR unless you are retiring or decommissioning a system, or you have a formal exception from GOIS.

If you’re retiring / decommissioning an asset you can use the following steps to uninstall Cortex XDR:

  1. Use the Cortex XDR console

    1. Endpoints> All Endpoints
    2. In the filter area, add a filter for Endpoint Name Contains and enter the hostname
    3. Right-click on the desired endpoint and select Endpoint Control > Uninstall Agent

3. Can you send me the latest version of the Cortex XDR installation packages?

You don’t need to install using the latest/greatest version! If you use an older Cortex XDR version, it’ll automatically upgrade itself shortly after installation (provided the installer is from the past year or so).

GOIS periodically uploads new installation packages to each units’ Google Drive folder.
